Glossary

Audience - Who the magazine is aimed at.
Coverage - The percentage of a population group reached by a magazine.
Coverlines - Coverlines are often the key articles in the magazine, they tend to be displayed in the left third.
Dateline - This is the month and year of the release of the magazine.
Frequency - How often a magazine releases a new issue eg. Weekly or Monthly.
In Home Readers - People that read the magazine at home.
Issue Date - The date that the magazine is distributed to the readers.
Issue Life - The average amount of time taken to read each issue.
Left Third -  The left hand side of the magazine, Masthead often starts here and also the coverlines are placed here.
Main Cover Line - Usually the most visually attracting feature other than the Main Image. Also adres's the main article.
Main Image - The Main Image, is the image that takes up most of the front cover, usually someone famous.
Masthead - The name or title of the magazine.
Model Credit - Only usually used if the person on the main image is not very well known.
Niche Audience - A small group of interested people for example, Kerrang is aimed at a rock audience.
Out Of Home Readers - Those who read a magazine outside their own homes.
